Machine Language for Beginners—a chamber piece I composed for Boston Musica Viva back in 2015—is getting another performance in October! BMV will be playing it alongside music by Sebastian Currier, Missy Mazzoli, and Kathryn Salfelder.

I’ve composed this entire score on synths—it’s been one of those experiences that’s so far out of my typical comfort zone that having to adapt to it made me accidentally create a new comfort zone for myself.
Wouldn’t trade it for anything.
